Bobby Sandell Scholarship Program

Bobby's Inspiration
What is the Bobby Sandell Scholarship Program?
Each year the Athletic Department at Hilton Head High School selects a student who unveils great character, determination and the motivation to succeed and excel in life. This student receives a $5000 scholarship from Bobby Sandell towards his/her college expenses. In 2005, Bobby announced an expansion of the program to cover two students, one boy and one girl, who will be entitled to receive this award.
Back in 1999, I started thinking about the best way to give back to my community and I contacted the local high school's Athletic Department and set up a scholarship program. I have always been fascinated by sports, which have taught me integrity and principles in my life. Remembering my own high school and college days, I thought that it was important for me to reward kids, who have a great potential in athletics, so that they could concentrate and focus more towards achieving their goals in life.

I feel proud to be associated with these fine and hard working personalities, who are the future of our society. These students belong to really fine families and are a perfect example of how sports, discipline, teamwork and constant efforts take people to a level of great success.
